LAW FIRM PROFILE
LINNEA J. LEVINE J.D, CELA
In 1991 Linnea J. Levine, Esq. established the Law Offices of Linnea J. Levine, PC to provide legal services to the unserved populations of the elderly and the disabled. In addition to planning for the elderly and disabled, she has expanded her law practice to include her representation of disabled persons in the collaborative divorce process in order to maintain the client's highest standard of quality of life post divorce while preserving the marital assets.
Linnea strongly believes and encourages mediation and collaborative law to resolve legal issues effecting individuals and families. However, there are situations where court oversight is essential to protect the elderly and disabled. To that end, Linnea has litigated age discrimination cases in both New York and Connecticut Federal Courts, she has litigated a constructive trust case in federal court under diversity, she has filed objections to the appointments of unfit trustees of a trust for a disabled person, she has litigated contested guardian and conservative proceedings, and in 1996 she won the second of only two Medicaid estoppel cases in Connecticut, Dorothy Gross v. The Connecticut Department of Social Services.
Her real passion, however, is creative problem solving. Seeing the relief on her client's face when a plan emerges that will provide the client with quality of life and quality of care, while preserving the client’s hard-earned assets, gives Linnea a pure joy.
